Review:Cass and Jake are lovers who have been separated by time and circumstance for a year. Cass, a successful sculptor moved to the city to better market her work. Jake stayed behind, an environmentalist who feels stifled by the city. They haven’t stopped loving each other, but Jake’s brother Lyle and his wife Maddy are embroiled in problems not of their creation, and need Jake’s help for them to remain alive.
Now that Cass is planning a new exhibition, and Lyle and Maddy are about to move away, Cass and Jake are free to be together again. But has too much water flowed under the bridge? Can they overcome their original problem of careers and distance?
I liked all these characters, and the conflicts are nearly insurmountable for all of them. Jake seems to be the strongest one of the four, keeping them all safe and alive. Wonderful novel for beach or fireside. I’m sure you’ll enjoy Tree Change as much as I did.
