Thanks for having me on your blog today Téa, it’s a great place to be! I think this is my first Australian blog stop ever!
Today I thought I’d talk about Edgerton Manor, the (imaginary) setting for The Right Side Of Mr Wrong...
The inspiration for Edgerton Manor came about by accident. I’m in UK, and one summer we were traveling from Derbyshire where we live to my mum-in-law’s house down in Dorset. We were intending to visit some gardens half way to break the four hour journey but unfortunately we got caught up in a summer festival traffic jam. So we changed our plans, took a diversion, and ended up instead at a small stately home in the Cotswolds called Snowshill Manor.(http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/snowshill-manor)
Originally, I’d intended to set the novel in a Scottish castle, but as the story developed Brando needed to nip back and forth to London, and Scotland was too far away for this. Then I remembered our lovely afternoon at Snowshill, and realised the Cotswolds with it’s honey coloured stone, its green undulating landscape and it’s fast routes to London would provide the perfect backdrop for Brando. The kind of rambling country house you find in the Cotswolds somehow fitted the characters and story much better than an isolated castle too. I settled on sash windows, dreamed up an orangerie, ordered a ballroom, tossed in the perfect parkland setting, grabbed a treelined driveway, and Edgerton Manor was born! I hope you enjoy reading about it!
Now I'm even more fascinated those pink shoes in an orangerie ... I'm off to pick up a copy! Thanks for popping Down Under!

And if she’s looking for Mr Right, she’s definitely hitting on the wrong guy. Then again, after catching an unscheduled glimpse of her knickers, perhaps Brando needs to teach this “gold-digger” a lesson!

She lives in a mountain kingdom in Derbyshire, England, where her family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos – happily, they are in walking distance of a supermarket. She enjoys writing romance because it means she gets to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. She loves hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things french. When she’s not on facebook, and can’t find an excuse for shopping, she’ll be walking, or gardening. On days when she wants to be really scared, she rides a tandem.
