When the questions started being asked about New Voices 2012 it made me realize what a roller coaster ride it’s been since 15th September 2011- the day I hit the send on my New Voices entry. It marked the end of an awful lot of procrastination but also the beginning of a very steep learning curve.
On November 30th 2012 my NV entry, much beaten, bruised, extended and finally whipped into submission, will be published by Breathless Press. The title, Tree Change, is about the only thing that hasn’t changed. Lily’s Leap, my first historical romance will be out sometime in the first half of next year and I’ve got two other manuscripts sitting on editor’s desks. Please notice how relaxed I sound about that. My fingernails have now regrown and I only obsessively haunt my in-box once a day, when I wake up - everything happens for us Aussies overnight!
My road to publication would have been much harder and a lot lonelier without the New Voices Facebook group. You guys have been awesome and lately the good news stories seem to be pouring off the page. I love hearing and celebrating them.
It sounds like this year it’s going to be SYTYCW and maybe no New Voices but anyone out there who is wondering whether or not…
Don’t be shy, hit send.
You never know where it might lead!
So that’s my story. I’ve teed up a few other NV 2011 people to tell their story
First cab off the rank is Charlotte Phillips. Watch this space!
There are some other interesting people who have volunteered to tell their Where are we now? and there’s always room for more. If you’d like to share your New Voices 2011 story drop me an email on my contact page or you can find me on Facebook.
